The prediction is based on an ordinal logistic regression model developed by The Myers-Briggs Company's R&D team. Your 20 Step II facet scores — the subscales measured by the Global MBTI Step II™ assessment — are run through a separate set of coefficients for each occupation in the model.

The output is a predicted probability that you would be "very satisfied" or "satisfied" in that role. This is the percentage shown next to each career in your results.

SSR stands for Sample Size Representation. It shows whether your confirmed MBTI type is over-represented, fairly represented, or under-represented in the workforce of each occupation, based on research data. An "over-represented" tag means people of your type make up a larger share of that field than you'd expect by chance — which can signal natural affinity. "Under-represented" means the opposite. This is separate from the satisfaction prediction and gives context about where your type tends to gravitate.

Most career recommendation tools map broad personality characteristics to broad career categories. • BLS OES occupation-group averages — used as a fallback when a specific occupation code is not individually reported
• U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey 5-Year estimates, 2020–2024 — used for military occupations and any remaining gaps (civilian median wages only; housing and subsistence allowances excluded for military roles)

Nearly every occupation in the model has salary data. The rare exception (Medical Lab Technologist) had insufficient Census survey sample size.

All occupation data — titles, descriptions, work activities, knowledge areas, education requirements, job outlook, and related occupations — comes from O*NET 30.3, the U.S. Department of Labor's comprehensive occupational database. O*NET covers occupations across all major industries and is updated regularly with real-world employment data.

The occupations in the model are based on the O*NET framework (U.S.), and salary data is from U.S. government sources. The psychometric model itself — how your MBTI facets predict satisfaction — is not U.S.-specific; the underlying employment research draws on data from multiple countries. If you're outside the U.S., treat salary figures as reference benchmarks rather than local estimates, and use the satisfaction scores and career descriptions as the primary guidance.
