Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of mbti.com(the “Platform”), operated by The Myers-Briggs Company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. The Platform
The Platform provides online access to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) (the “Assessment”), a research-backed personality type instrument developed and owned by The Myers-Briggs Company. The Platform allows you to complete the Assessment, receive a personalized type report, and explore guidance based on your MBTI type.
Each account may only be used by a single, named individual. Sharing account credentials is prohibited. Users must be at least 16 years of age to register.
2. Account Registration
To access the Platform, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and all activity under your account.
Notify us immediately at support@mbti.com if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.
3. Fees & Payment
Certain features require payment. All fees are in US dollars and due in advance. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees.
Refunds. Because assessment results are delivered immediately upon completion, all sales are final. If you experience a technical issue preventing access to your results, contact us within 14 days at support@mbti.com.
4. Gift Purchases
You may purchase assessment access as a gift. A unique redemption code is sent to the recipient's email address.
- Gift codes do not expire.
- A gift code entitles the holder to one assessment product of the type purchased. If that product is unavailable, we may substitute a product of equal or greater value.
- Each code may only be redeemed once and is non-transferable after redemption.
- All gift sales are final and are not eligible for refund.
5. Your Responsibilities
You agree that you will not:
- Share, resell, or sublicense access to the Platform or your results report.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or derive the scoring methodology or question keys of the MBTI assessment.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Platform.
- Transmit malicious code or content that could damage the Platform.
- Misrepresent your identity or provide false information.
- Use the Platform in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Platform.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including the MBTI assessment questions, scoring methodology, results reports, text, graphics, and software — is the proprietary intellectual property of The Myers-Briggs Company or its licensors.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use your personal results report for your own private, non-commercial purposes.
Trademarks. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, MBTI®, and related marks are trademarks of The Myers & Briggs Foundation, licensed to The Myers-Briggs Company. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
7. Privacy & Data
Your use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. Platform Availability & Discontinuation
We make reasonable efforts to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. If we decide to permanently shut down the Platform, we will provide at least 30 days' written notice to all registered users via email, during which time all users will retain full access to view and download their results.
Holders of unredeemed gift codes will receive the same notice at the email address on file. Because gift codes do not expire, any code still unredeemed at discontinuation will be honoured with a substitute product of equal or greater value, or refunded at the price paid, at our option. Nothing in these Terms obliges us to continue operating the Platform in order to keep a gift code redeemable.
9. Term & Termination
These Terms remain in effect as long as you maintain an account. You may close your account at any time by contacting support@mbti.com. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you materially breach these Terms.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform and all content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. The MBTI assessment is a personality type instrument intended for informational and self-awareness purposes — it does not constitute professional psychological advice or a guarantee of any particular outcome.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Myers-Briggs Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Myers-Briggs Company from any claims arising out of your breach of these Terms or your violation of any applicable law.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in San Francisco County, California.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified by email or Platform notice at least 14 days before taking effect.
